Welcome to Green's Hill!
Greetings and salutations!
Welcome to the website of Amy Lane, writer of fantasy, urban fantasy, and m/m romance. In my urban fantasy series, The Little Goddess books, Green's Hill is a place where all sorts of races come together and work as a team to keep themselves safe and to love in kindness, the way they choose. When it was time to make myself a home on the internet, I chose Green's Hill--I figured it was sorta iconic, right? So welcome to Green's Hill, where the fantastic and the mundane rest side by side, and where surprises of a literary sort abound. Feel free to explore, enjoy the free stories, and, by all means, if you get the urge, contribute to the fan art! I always love hearing from readers, so feel free to hit the contact button, and generally enjoy the site!

Racing for the Sun
(Released on April 26th, but I was having technical difficulties, and then I was having RT!)
"I'll do anything."
Staff Sergeant Jasper "Ace" Atchison takes one look at Private Sonny Daye and knows that every word on paper about him is pure, unadulterated bullshit. But Sonny is desperate, and although Ace isn't going to take him up on his offer of "anything," that doesn't mean he isn't tempted.
Instead, Ace takes Sonny under his wing, protecting him when they're in the service and making plans with him when they get out. Together, they're going to own a garage and build race cars and make their fortune hurtling faster than light across the desert. Together, they're going to rewrite the past, make Sonny Daye a whole and happy person, and put the ghosts in Ace's heart to rest.
But not even Sonny can build a car fast enough to escape the ghosts of the past. When Sonny's ghosts drive them down and run their plans off the road, Ace finds out exactly what he's made of. Maybe Sonny was the one to promise Ace anything, but there is nothing under the sun Ace won't do to keep Sonny safe from harm.

Bolt Hole is out!
EEEEEEE!!!!!
Terrell Washington’s childhood was a trifecta of suck: being black, gay, and poor in America has no upside. Terrell climbed his way out of the hood only to hit a glass ceiling and stop, frozen, a chain restaurant bartender with a journalism degree. His one bright spot is Colby Meyers, a coworker who has no fear, no inhibitions, and sees no boundaries. Terrell and Colby spend their summers at the river and their breaks on the back dock of Papiano’s. As terrified as Terrell is of coming out, he’s helpless to stay away from Colby's magnetic smile and contagious laughter.
But Colby is out of college now, and he has grand plans for the future—plans Terrell is sure will leave his scrawny black ass in the Sacramento dust until a breathless moment stolen from the chaos of the restaurant tells Terrell he might be wrong. When the moment is shattered by a mystery and an act of violence, Terrell and Colby are left with two puzzles: who killed their scumbag manager, and how to fit their own lives—the black and the white of them—into a single shining tomorrow.

City Mouse
WOOT! And I'm proud to announce City Mouse is out from Riptide!
A magical weekend, a breathless declaration, a happy ever after . . . Right?
Wrong.
When Malcolm Kavanagh took his first step toward emotional maturity by declaring his love to Owen Watson, that was just the first chapter in their story. Anyone who’s ever been in love knows that happy endings take a lot more work than that.
One problem: Malcolm has never been in love. He doesn’t know the rules of a relationship and isn’t confident enough to trust that his is real. He learns the ropes by sharing his life and his flat with Owen, but relationship boot camp proves a challenge. Everything is a struggle, from accepting Owen’s low-status job to putting his boyfriend above his personal trainer.
Luckily, Owen knows a little more about relationships, and labors patiently to survive the first six weeks of their life together. From the art galleries of Cambridge to the tawdry majesty of the Dominion theatre, Owen adapts to England while Malcolm adapts to the whole human race. Maybe, if Owen is patient enough and Malcolm learns to give, the two of them can make it past Relationship Armageddon to a real happy ending.

The TRR Awards!
I'm so excited to be nominated for Gambling Men and (along with Aleksandr Voinov) Country Mouse over at The Romance Reviews. Now, you DO have to log in to vote, but by all means, feel free to sign up and give me (or Mary Calmes or Aleks Voinov or Marie Sexton or Kele Moon or any of the other fine authors you'll see on that page!) a nod for hard work appreciated! And, uhm, WHEEE!
Amy's Lane on the RRW Website
Okay-- I'm just posting to announce that I'll be doing a monthly post to the RRW website every first Tuesday of the month. I've cross-posted the article here, but if you want the good stuff? The discussion from the pros that follows? You're gonna have to go visit the RW forum and see what folks say! (That means that if you're a writer in the genre, you gotsta join, and that's a GOOD THING!) So thereyago... good news!
Thank Yous:-)
Hey, all-- there's some more thankyous and acknowledgements on the News Page, so by all means go check that out!!!
Thank you so very much!
There is nothing like watching an organization grow, when you were in on the ground floor. Sometimes this is a painful thing-- what happened to my last job was definitely not for the better--but sometimes it's simply amazing. The Paranormal Romance Guild started as a group of independent writers, chatting on the amazon.com forums. A lot of us were learning the ins and outs of self-marketing etiquette, and trying to find ways to get the word out about our self-published works without being DESPERATELY tacky. (Someday, ask me about my self-publishing sins. They are many and embarrassing, and I think you'd have to offer a nice dinner and a lot of alcohol to get a full confession out of me. *shudder* To those of you who remember me back then, I totally apologize.)
Anyway, the Paranormal Romance Guild was one of the things that was born out of those discussions. I've been a member since the very beginning, although pretty much all I can claim from that membership is the friendship of Gloria Enkritz and Marianne Morea, and since they're both the nicest, most awesome, most supportive people on planet earth, I'm pretty sure I came out the better of that deal. But in the course of the development of the organization, they have begun their own awards, and I am SO HONORED to be a part of them. This year, The Knitting Series was co-honored with a win (along with Aleksandr Voinov's Dark Soul series, so I'm in AWESOME company!) and Chase in Shadow was co-honored with a win (along with Abigail Roux's Gravedigger's Brawl, so, again, look at the company I'm in!) In addition, Sidecar was given honorable mention as a romance novel, and I'm beyond thrilled.
So thank you, Grammy and Marianne, and thank you to the PRG. I'm more than proud to be a part of you!

There is a more thorough coverage in the news section, but I'd like to thank Elisa Rolle and her hard working community for the Rainbow Awards for Sidecar and Country Mouse, the Honorable Mentions for Gambling Men, Talker, and Chase in Shadow, and the one perfect score for Clear Water. I am very very grateful.
